At one point Conrad from Ecurie Ecrappe fashioned this condom-style glove gas filler cap for the Volvo which was losing massive amounts of fuel. Guess you could call this the reservoir tip gas cap.

As the event wore on, the sides were carefully sculpted by contact.
When Ecurie Ecosse pitted from the first stint, we left in first place. We fell down the board, but slowly climbed back up. With roughly an hour to go, we were solidly in second place, but a loose alternator bolt, failing alternator, and suddenly absent brake booster played into our final hour, and our slide down to 5th place overall. Three batteries, a head-on collision with the H8 Camaro, and a failed fuel pump relay led to this:
With four minutes left on the clock, this was our final lap, as the 8V motor succumbed to heat and abuse in a toxic cloud of steam and smoke. Special thanks to Team Clear Capital and Team Vagisil for batteries during the final hour.
