Conrad Stevenson (left) and Christine Rotolo (halfway down the embankment at right) brought Conrad's wicked 1961 Giulietta Sprint Speciale. My original plan was to start out really early on Sunday and roll up to Red Bluff in time to start out with the group. I got a later start, and decided to catch up with the event in Garberville around lunchtime. Given the fire on 36, I'm glad I made that call. As I rolled into Garberville, I found the SS, the Rhodes/Clark Giulietta Spider, and my folks in the 912/911 at the gas station. We had a very civilized lunch at the Benbow Inn and then Conrad and I decided to do the lost coast route heading north - backwards to the direction most who chose that route were headed. Along the way we stopped and shot these photos.
After this we ran across Chris Obert and the yellow Fiat making a scraping noise where the alternator was interfering with an axle. He assured us he had it covered.
Monday Morning at the Driftwood/ Oceanside Inn and towel wrapped proprietors.
We had a pretty good train coming from the coast inland with the two Alfa SS's, and a pair of 2002's with Davin's 6cyl and Nick's 4 banger...Then we caught Mitch in the 914-6, who caught the Sunbeam Tiger and Shelby GT350. They moved, and Mitch led, until this point, where he parked his car in rather precarious position. A larger tow rope and a local with a giant Dodge truck pulled it out quickly. Nothing to see here... At this point Davin threw his BMW keys to Craig, and he rode to lunch with me in the SS.
Shortly after that, Christine Kiesling rejoined the event just south of Ukiah in the Duetto on Boonville-Ukiah road.
