Hair-O-Dynamics:
The phenomenon was studied early on in open cockpit airplanes. With the advent of the wind tunnel, the government and independant sports car designers began to study the effects of the wind on drivers of open vehicles. A prototype Wild Hare was captured at this early wind tunnel at an undisclosed location in 1950.
