Alfa Romeo Stepnose GTjr 1969 / 70

(From my ad text...) Tough looking Stepnose GTjr with a 1750cc motor and dual 40mm weber carbs and a host of GTA-look goodies. GTA front grills, cut down Super grill heart, Alfaholics 14X7 GTA reproduction wheels (or I could fit vintage BWA four spokes if you’re into those) and euro-rear taillight lenses. It was lowered with Alfaholics “Fast Road” suspension kit – the 2 ¼ front spring update with Alfaholics spring pans, Alfaholics front swaybar, Yellow Koni Sport shocks and adjustable upper control arms. The front hubs and brakes are from a 1974, stainless braided flex lines were fitted all the way around, as well as Ferodo DS2500 brake pads. On the fairly recently replaced list are the brake master and booster, clutch slave, T-bar bushings at the rear and front control arm bushings. The five speed transmission also came out of a ’74. Part of what makes this GT so spectacular as a driver is the patina – the paint, while shiny is about four different shades of red and there are some body issues- filler and bubbles concentrated around the front lower corners ahead of the front wheels. GTjr’s were never imported to the states, and this one made it here from Canada, where it was heavily undercoated. You could tackle the body, or just drive it like it is – it hasn’t spread or gotten worse in the time I’ve owned it. The interior is pretty good – there’s one crack in the dash, and a few minor upholstery flaws but it’s very presentable. Grab a friend with a Datsun 510 and reenact the battles of the Trans-Am series.

This GTjr was built in ’69 as a ’70 model year. Alfa Romeo continued the stepnose body on the 1300cc versions into the early 70’s.
