Body Images of MG TF 1500 (# 8022)

The body of TF 8022 had been very well preserved. All of the wood in the car (including the floor) is original, and in excellent shape. When the car was "discovered" the overall condition of the body was excellent. It had a few very small nicks and scrapes from storage, and had been inexpensively resprayed in a slightly lighter shade than the original "dark red" sometime in the late 1960's. The only corrosion damage was located directly underneath the battery, which was cut out and replaced with galvanized metal under the battery. For more photos of the bodywork, mounting the body, and assembly click the "Frame off Restoration" link at the bottom of the page.

Before disassembly, body removal, and multicolored pieces. On the engine side panel, note the respray color,
the original color at the front of the panel, and the black paint under the fenders. On the tub you can see the
engine compartment and rear fenderwells were original paint. The yellow arrow notes an original factory assembly number.
The same number (61) was also under the build plate on the cowl.

Body and fenders stripped before bodywork.
