XPEG 1872

XPEG 1872 is the original numbers matching engine for TF 1500 Body # 8022

Its' rebuild was executed by O'Connor Classic Autos, located in Santa Clara California between September and October of 2002.

When I found the car, I was unable to turn the engine. During their dissasembly of the motor, it was noted that there were signs of unusual heat in the number four piston and cylinder. This was likely a major contributing factor to the cars' removal from the road in 1972.

The engine is fitted with a new crank, hardened valve seats/guides, new pistons (.040), crane cam, etc.

Line item breakdown of engine rebuild.

O'Connor also rebuilt and set up the carburetors, and distributor. They also dissasembled, inspected, cleaned and resealed the gearbox. The rear axle was also inspected and new pinion seals were installed.
