Dear Mr. James:
In further reference to our correspondence of recent date, I have received your letter of July 22nd.
It is true that my car was originally fitted with 19-inch wheels. However, these have proven somewhat fragile when subjected to stresses encountered in competition, and I wish to replace them with wheels which will mount 5.50-16 tires and tubes. Such wheels are not obtainable locally to fit my knock-off hubs and splines, but are obtainable in England.
In my last letter, I mentioned that Mr. Lendel Gray had purchased wheels through you which were identical to the ones that I need. Mr. Gray has sent me his correspondence with your company, and the wheels are described in a letter of October 4th 1957 signed by your Mr. C.H. Bernhardt. There is no reference number on the letter which I can give you, so I am enclosing a copy of the letter itself. If you can presently furnish similar wheels please order five of them for me.
Very Truly Yours
John Vander Male
