Finishing 2nd at the Gold Coast Classic in the MGTC won us a Jim Russell Racing School - and in one of his more expensive mistakes, my dad let me attend instead of himself. A couple of years later he went through it too...

At the end of the school, we drove the Formula Mazdas, a hook for a more expensive class....


After attending Russell, we outfitted the Seven with a diagonal roll bar extension, and I took it through the SCCA Drivers' School at Sears Point and earned a "provisional' racing license.
