On the
Road 5
Following the Bentley Friday afternoon was the 1974 Pontiac Grandville. The detail shot is the intricately carved faux-wood rear seat side panel. Truly a glorious detail from GM's elegance division circa early to mid seventies.
Joe Harding and crew were chugging along in the 1929 Bentley Speed Six somewhere north of 75 mph in the overtaking shots above. Joe told me the story of the car at a gas stop: it was found in Australia with an extended wheelbase doing duty as a tow truck. It had an Alvis body that had been cut off in the back in order to mount a tow - crane. Joe has eclectic taste in automobiles: last year he drove his NASCAR 427 Ford Galaxie.
